The Sea Venture story is one of the corner stones of Bermuda's history but a large chunk of the story has been overlooked, namely the modern history of the wreck. The key purpose of this film is to educate both students and the broader pubic.

While the events of 1609 are well known very little has been done to research and present the story of the discovery of the wreck in 1959 through to the conclusion of decades of analysis in 2012. It felt like it was about time we acknowledged the pioneers of underwater exploration and marine archaeology and their work on our most famous wreck.

For the first time the full story of the Sea Venture has been told.

The production uses an extensive range of Sea Venture paintings, sketches, photographs and archival footage that is pooled together in one location. This collation of material from disparate sources acts as a valuable catalogue of visual assets for researchers, students and educators.

The film presents the first hand accounts of those involved with interviews from Teddy Tucker, Peggy Wingood, Dr Jon Adams and Russel Wayman and archived interviews of Edmund Downing and Smokey Wingood. Further opinion and analysis is provided by Custodian of Historic Wrecks, Dr Philippe Rouja, Curator of the Bermuda National Museum, Elena Strong and Historian, Clarence Maxwell. The insight and contributions of these individuals paints a detailed and colorful picture of the Sea Venture Story from 1609 to 2012.

The Sea Venture film provides the perfect platform to educate a broad demographic about an important aspect of our cultural heritage.

The intention is to launch the film as one of the main attractions during Heritage Month, open to the general public then made available to all schools and student institutions across the island.

LookBermuda photographer Jean-Pierre Rouja recently produced the photography for the historic Chelston Estate, a world-class family compound which has been listed by Sinclair Realty, the exclusive Bermuda affiliate for Christie's International Real Estate.

Shot over a two week period in December and January, the photographs showcase the 14-acre estate which extends from the main house sitting at the top of Grape Bay drive approximately one-half mile down to the pavilion on private Grape Bay beach.

In addition to the 10,000+/- sq. ft. main house,  Chelston boasts three guest houses, a staff cottage, a pool house and beach pavilion (with a kitchenette, wood burning pizza oven, two shower rooms with changing facilities and a covered terrace)
